Thanx to both David M Richoux and Bert Brandsma for the very in-depth 
response to the original email.  There always seems to be numerous 
members in DJML who can provide such wonderful answers on nearly 
anything related to early jazz.  All of what was just told in both 
emails should be in the Music History books in colleges, but I don't 
recall even a mention of such things.  Has anyone ever taken a course 
where such information is revealed?

I'd bet that someone could do a Master's Thesis just collecting all the 
valuable historical information that I have seen posted here over the 
last few years.  Perhaps all this information will lie dormant in the 
DJML files until someone actually does discover these treasures. ( I 
understand that all past letters are available, right?)
