Wow!
I first saw Newberger in Edinburgh in 1984.  What impressed me most
was not just his playing, but the way he seemed to be caressing his
instrument.  I remarked to my neighbour there that he seemed to be
making love to the beast, and we've been great friends ever since.
While on this subject, one should not forget the excellent - and
interesting - Makin' Whoopee, the Newberger-Sam Pilafian band.
