Sorry to pick nits, Bill. The tune, originally entitled, "Nao tenho lagrimas" (sorry Outlook Express doesn't make it easy to include the tilde over the "a" in "nao" or the acute on the first "a" in "lagrimas") was originally a Brasilian tune. Authors were Max Bulhoes (tilde over the "o") and Milton de Oliveira. I will concede that the original lyrics were in Portuguese, but it's worth knowing that the Brasilians are as keen on being mistaken for Portuguese as the Scots are about being called English! The song was a major hit of the Rio carnival of 1937 (and remains an evergreen of the Brasilian Carnaval season), so it took a full decade for it to be translated into English. Mind you, the English-speaking population of the world was slightly preoccupied for much of that decade!
