Colin,
Here are the lyricsI have, for verse and chorus:
Cher-ry is the one girl I shall al-ways love. Cher-ry is the name I'm al-ways think-ing of. Al-tho' she keeps re-fus-ing and de-lay-ing, these are the words I con-stant-ly keep say-ing Cher-ry, Cher-ry, you're hard to get. Cher-ry, Cher-ry, I'll get you yet. Cher-ry, Cher-ry, don't you for-get. Cher-ry, Cher-ry, you'll be my pet and when I do, you'll soon find out just what love is all a-bout. Oh, Cher-ry, Cher-ry, you're hard to get. Cher-ry, Cher-ry, I'll get you yet. I'll get you yet.
Cheers,
Bruce Stangeland
Berkeley banjoist

Hello all you knowedgeable people,
Played a tune called 'Cherry' in a jam session session with local at our
Jazz Picnic last.
Has anyone a recording by any musician or group and able to put on an
audio attachment.
Is it a Don Redman tune? 1930's era?
Everybody has recorded it, is their lyrics?
Good that UK ex UK drummer, Pat Ladd & Wendy actually got to hear some
local Whangarei, Northland, New Zealand jazz and even hear his new
friend Colin Toomer on drums with local big band and in a jam session.
Like more of you on this great List to come on down to New Zealand and
make sure Whangarei is on your itineray.
Regards,
Colin Toomer,
drummer,
Whangarei, New Zealand.
