One of the things that has been highlighted in the press here in the UK is 
the
manner of the announcement of his death. On the evening of his death Cleo,
his wife and two kids were performing in a concert to celebrate 40 years
of the theatre he and Cleo had set up. Just prior to the finale, when 
Johnny
was supposed to have appeared, Cleo announced he had died. The musicians
had only been told just before the start of the concert. It must have been
a hard gig to play.
