[Dixielandjazz] Tommy Dorsey, trumpet

Hello all

Dick Sudhalter is probably both right and wrong in his reference to
Tommy Dorsey playing trumpet on a Clambake Seven recording from 1937.

The item in question is "After You", matrix 011352-1, 20 July 1937.

Brian Rust, in his notes to a Retrieval CD re-issue (RTR 79012), claims
that on "After You" Dorsey has a solo using a trumpet mouthpiece on his
trombone!

This makes a lot of sense - the solo in question sounds unlike both Pee
Wee Irwin's trumpet playing and the Tommy Dorsey trombone playing that
we are used to.

All the best,
Anton
