Regarding a Clambake Seven record with Tommy Dorsey on trumpet,
Sudhalter had this to say on page 363 of his book, "LOST CHORDS".

"On the strength of these late '20s trumpet solos it seems regrettable
that Dorsey all but forsook the instrument, at least on records, in
the following decade. Now and then, late in a ballroom date, he'd
borrow Bunny Berrigans's (or Pee Wee Erwin's, or Ziggy Ellman's horn
and knock off a chorus or two. But with the exception of one 1937
Clambake Seven title and "Back to Back" in 1939, he never recorded on
trumpet again."

Bill Haesler, Marvin Ipswitch and other interested folks who have the
book will enjoy what Sudhalter had to say about TD and the trumpet on
pages 362 and 363.
