Dear Anton,
Your comment <Unless I'm way-off and he played trumpet on some of his swing era sessions> is spot on.
The answer to my question is "Back To Back" by the Tommy Dorsey Orchestra, recorded in New York for Victor on 1 June 1939.
I'm also inclined to accept that Tommy Dorsey is the straight-ahead trumpet player on Charles "Buddy" Rogers 27 Feb 1930 recording of "I'd Like To Be A Bee In Your Boudoir". It is certainly Jimmy Dorsey on clarinet.
The possibility that Dorsey is the trumpet player on the Annette Hanshaw session of 21 Oct 1930 ("Yes Indeedy/He Do/Now I Know") is more of a probability. It is certainly brash enough to be him on "Yes Indeedy". I have never heard "Now I Know" and do not think that it has been reissued.
<Also, it's and it's claimed that he plays both trumpet and trombone on the the Dorsey Bros session of 14 Mar 1934.>
There are various discographal opinions regarding Tommy Dorsey (trumpet) on this session. He solos on trombone on the first tune of the session, but the several trumpet solos are by Bunny Berigan.
TB may have augmented the ensembles with trumpet, but who can tell?
As you know, Tommy and his kid brother, Jimmy, played tpt before taking up their chosen instruments. Tommy‘s trumpet style usuallywas brash, inaccurate at times but, for me, it was nearly always hot.
