[Dixielandjazz] Powerful verse

The standard pattern for 20s-early 30s dance orchestras was
1 or more Choruses, verse, clarinet or other chorus, 1 or more "hot" out
choruses. The verse usually is not sung. The published stock charts always
included the verse, but unlike the chorus, the lyrics were never printed
in the parts.

Records *featuring* vocalist stars like Bing Crosby and Rudy Vallee often
broke this pattern, with vocals on both verse and chorus.

I learned the above when I had a 10-piece 20s-early 30s band, listen
regularly to the recordings, and put my knowledge to use when doing my
fake books.
