Over 5000 hours of video from the Montreux Jazz Festival (MJF) will be saved through
the project "Digital Montreux Sounds Project". Under the supervision of the EPFL,
it provides for the digitization of this audiovisual unique heritage. It should be
completed in 2013.
Since its opening in 1967, the festival made recordings of all the concerts. "Now
there exists only one single copy" said Claude Nobs Wednesday before the press in
his cottage in Caux. The owner of SDM was pleased to have found private partners
to sustain the project representing nearly fifty years of passion for music.
