While when anyone dies it's never pleasant (i.e. the death of Freddie Assuntos only son 2 weeks ago) our prayers go out to the Taylor Family. But as far as being the leader of a band called the Dukes of Dixieland that was all it was...a band called the Dukes of Dixieland operated by a thief called John Shoup and having NO connection to the Assunto Dukes of Dixieland and for anyone that isn't aware there is an upcoming trial scheduled for January 31st and February 1st, 2011 here in New Orleans against John Shoup and his fake Dukes. It's sad that "Dickie" won't be able to defend himself not as much for being part of Shoups scam but against Shoup himself for throwing him under the bus for his participation with the operations of Shoups Dukes. But that's what happens when you work for a crook.
DEANO ASSUNTO
Administrator the Estate of Frank Assunto
"Let's hope that his contributions to New Orleans and that of his family will not be
forgotten. For wherever the Dukes went they represented more than just good music - they were New Orleans."
