The recordings of Coleman Hawkins with Django and Benny Carter can be counted as highlights in all their careers.
- Honeysuckle Rose- Crazy Rhythm
Ultimate swing records.
Also 4 quartet recordings are unique :
Django with Barney Bigard, Rex Stewart and Billy Taylor
Ultimate Chamber Jazz, very high musical listening experience.
It is a pitty that Django never was allowed by managers, musician unions etc. to work with Ellington himself, only with the sideman.
Need to be in the collection of every serious jazz collector. They are milestones in jazz history.
