Hello Gerard,
I see what you mean. My remark about almost unthinkable was related to a tradjazz record getting a high ranking in the pop charts. I'm sorry if I was not clear.Oh Mona did reach the number 5 position in 1975.Since then the only records I can remember with some kind of jazz rhythm that made it in the charts were :
- Het Leven Is Goed In Mijn Brabantse Land (beerdrinking carnaval stuff, but with some nice harmonic touches)- Stars On 45, with a medley of swing hits (spoiled by a kind of disco beat underneath it)- Deep River Quartet - also a medley, was it called swing is the thing???
Maybe you know some more?
BTW, many thanks for the DSC discografie, I read it through at least 3 times now!
