[Dixielandjazz] French Quarter Festival New Orleans

The 27th year's event broke all previous records with 512,00 attending.  There were  trad bands from the U K, France, Japan, Denmark, Germany, Sweden, Norway and Japan among the 150 diverse bands appearing.

It is an outdoor affair with bands playing on 17 stages

throughout the French Quarter and its free.  Dixieland Direct,  which has outstanding service band musicians from the Washington, D C area, won the Battle of the Bands.

They appear at the Zoo Bar across from the National Zoo on Connecticut Ave. in Washington on Sundays from 7:30 to 10:00 PM.  When in Washington check out www.prjc.org for  local trad events.
