Dear John,
Not necessarily.
There was a Welsh trumpet player, Alwyn 'Albert' Hall (1929-1980) on the British music scene.
Came into it in the mid 40s. From the late 1950s was with Eric Delaney, Buddy Featherstonhaugh (pronounced Fanshaw, I was told many years ago) and Kenny Baker, then freelance session work for radio, television and recordings. With Joe Loss in the 60s and 70s plus Frank Weir and Don Lusher's Big Band.
Very kind regards,
Bill.
