[Dixielandjazz] Quebe Sisters

I'm glad to finally hear these gals!! They are good... obviously
mostly influenced by Bob Wells & the Western Swing followers. (The
guitar on the YouTube Sample is exactly what Eldon Chamblin would play
on "Georgia...".)

It's too bad the girls aren't exposed to some really great "sister
acts." Sisters & brothers have an edge because they share genes but
also because they pronounce their words the same. But simply singing
harmonies together is just the beginning.

I was energized by the Ken Burns treatment of scat singing. He was
mostly influenced by Winton Marsalis and seemed to give all the early
credit to Louis Armstrong. Actually there were some GREAT GREAT early
scat singers along with Louis. The Rhythm Boys, and the Boswell Sisters.

The Boswells grew up in New Orleans and had that southern sound, and
obviously learned how to sing jazz. Here's a YouTube example.

Look around there, and you can hear some other examples, altho most of
them don't have a video. They sound a lot like the early Mills
Brothers, when they were doing instruments with their voices.

Imagine what the Quebe sisters could do if they spread their wings a
little!!

Thanks again for the pointer!
