Dear Steve,
Ah - memories.
In 1954, when that cartoon came out, it was frequently featured at the  
continuous Newsreel theatrettes in Melbourne, Australia
We young jazz turks would sit through it several times and cheer the  
band along.
Once, we became too exuberant and were asked to leave.
Those were the daze.
