Dear Richard,
Sorry, it is Bud Scott.
Forget the experts, who have based the identification on a set of
publicity photographs taken at the time and the later (prompted?)
memories of Baby Dodds and Bill Johnson.
My ears told me back in the 1940s that it was Bud Scott. Never any
doubt in my mind.
I am even more convinced after listening to the excellent remastered
Archeophone CD.
It is definitely Bud Scott's style, to be heard on the 22 June Oliver
session for Okeh and Scott's later work with Oliver's Dixie Syncopators.
