Hope that ends the confusion about Panama and Panama Rag.

I think the bands that often misidentified Panama as Panama Rag did so  
because Panama as originally written, is in Ragtime format, even  
though it had tango rhythm. The early bands that may have copied it  
from hearing a jazzed up version may well of assumed it was a Rag,  
because of the way the parts repeated. Just MHO.
