[Dixielandjazz] The Wee Big Band of Jimmy Gallowy

I must admit being a wee bit disappointed to find that the band was
more big than wee!
But there's nothing disappointing with the music!  A swing
repertoiare, to be sure, but played with panache, originality - and
SWING!  Among others, the band plays Blue and Sentimantal and comes
out with flying (blue( colours).
Other than the leader, Jake Hanna, Jay McShann and Frazer McPherson,
all the musicians are new to me.  How many of you have heard of Ingrid
Stitt, for example?  It's astounding that there  are so many wonderful
jazzers around.

John Norris and his Sacville label have done us all a great service by
issuing that CD (and so many others in its catalogue).
