Dear Steve,
This well-written, enthusiastic review certainly whets the appetite.
However, I would want to hear some of the tracks before I rushed out to buy the album.
Oddly, no mention is made of the band.
Why?
The discography in Stuart Nicholson's Ella biography (mentioned in the review) identifies it as Lou Levy (piano) Herb Ellis (guitar) Wilfred Middlebrooks (bass) and Gus Johnson (drums). 
Ella started using this fine working group in mid-1960 and it brought with her to Australia in January 1961.
