I would venture to say that if a musician is a steady, daily player (either
at home or gigging), one minute of warm-up is sufficient for a wind
instrument.  If you get someone playing five minutes, etc., he is probably
unconciously (or conciously) showing off.  

Then, you don't go whole hog on the first number.  Let the chops & body warm
up.  By the way, I practice daily for at least a half hour if I don't have a
gig.  Been doing it all my life!  I'll bet an hour would even be better, but
practicing alone can be very boring!  When I travel (for pleasure), I take
my mouthpiece.  I use the time my wife is getting ready for dinner to buzz
the mouthpiece. That way, I don't bug her to hurry, which is never helpful.
