'The Year Before the Flood,'
Ned Sublette is a rather interesting guy - a song writer, performer,
historian and now he has written his third book, looking at the
cultural ties (and separations) in New Orleans history that has led to
jazz, rock, and all sorts of other musical styles. (His other books
explore African, Caribbean, and Latin-American musics relationship to
New Orleans music.)

I participated in a phone interview with Ned on KFJC many years ago -
he is not the typical "rock musician!"
