[Dixielandjazz] The word Jazz

Dave, 
Your 2nd idea below jibes with a theory I heard recently that "Jazz" (the
word) derived from the "working girls" - "Jezebels" and the music associated
with them - I haven't seen any proof of this one but it sounds plausible at
least.
