I called my HMO yesterday, and while I was on hold, the background music
was a *very* slow piano solo, with "haunting" wordless choral
accompaniment, of "Willow weep for me".
A memorable Muzak tune heard in a supermarket some years ago was Irving
Berlin's wonderful "Change partners", one of my favorite pretties. Totally
different from the usual Muzak mistreatment, this was an extremely tasty
amplified guitar jazz solo, and what was also different, this slow foxtrot
was played as a slow rhumba. My danceband tried the rhumba version on a
gig, and it worked just great--a nice change from "Spanish flies"...
