[Dixielandjazz] OKOM in New York City

Herb Gardner has a couple of steady gigs in NYC (USA) at Charlie O's. He
is a great OKOM trombonist, pianist, singer, guy. See/hear him if you  
are
in the area.

Stan Rubin? You old timers might remember Stan Rubin who led the
Tigertown Five that played in Monaco for Princess Grace's wedding. I
believe his fellow Princeton Univ alumnus, Ed Polcer was in that group,

Stan, ever the great networker, went on to lead various Swing and
Dixie bands on the high society scene in New York for many years.

Herb Gardner? Well, he is not the kind of guy that talks about himself,
preferring to let his trombone do the talking.

However he has gigged with quite a few superb OKOMers over the last
50 years or so including: Wild Bill Davison, Kenny Davern, Dick
Wellstood, Roy Eldridge, Gene Krupa, Henry Red Allen, Bobby Hackett,
Jimmy Rushing, Doc Cheatham, Max Kaminsky, Wingy Manone, Yank
Lawson, Ruby Braff, Charlie Shavers, Pee Wee Erwin, Billy Butterfield,
Jimmy McPartland, Pee Wee Russell, Art Hodes, Arvell Shaw, Milt Hinton
et al. Well, you get the idea.

weekly appearance in Manhattan. Every Tuesday night from 8:30 - 11:30
PM we'll be at the 8th Ave Charley-O's restaurant. Mondays we're
