[Dixielandjazz] What Happened to Chicago?

I'm not recalling any lurker posts from the Chicago area.  Did I miss  them 
or did Chicago drop out of the "Dixieland" traditions,  revivals, etc.?  
Maybe Mike Woitowicz will post and enlighten  me.
 
Minimally related.  I did get an email this week about a benefit  concert & 
jam here tomorrow for a local drummer hit with  major family illness.  Plan 
to get there.  But it reminded me, those  are also becoming rare in this 
area.
