This brings back some great memories. I used to listen to Jazz Revisited weekly when I was first married back in the '70s and early '80s. And of course you can't get much better than Red Nichols.

For a neat site that includes radio programs originally broadcast from
the University of Michigan, in the 1960s. Click on:

For Don Ingle, a Red Nichols devotee, once there click on Music of the
1920s and 30s and hear various Red Nichols 78s and the program from U
Mich. First number is "King Porter Stomp" (with Joe Venuti in Red's
band) Second number has Red, Miff Mole and Pee Wee Russell on "Ida".
Third number is Panama with Jimmy Dorsey on Sax. Etc., etc., etc. Or
just surf the site. It will keep you busy for the rest of the summer.
The site is Jazz Museum Bix Eiben All That Jazz from the Jazz Museum
in Hamburg. GREAT SITE, available in several languages. Wondeerful
fidelity.
Cheers,
