Ha! Like I've been telling Don Ingle for years, on the DJML, the  
Italians invented jazz.

Ms LaRocca who produced the above youtube is to be commended for  
finally making the truth known.  Word has it that she is now  
completing some genealogy research that will confirm the real identity  
of that first loud jazz trumpet player. he was, in fact, Goombah  
Boldeno, who hurriedly left  Sicily in 1895 to escape the Mafia while  
Americanizing his name in New Orleans.

He thought he could escape them in New Orleans, little realizing that  
the Mafia also ran that fair city in the late 1800s and early 1900s.  
His medical problems, described as dementia, caused by a "social  
disease," were in reality the result of a mob hit by the Matranga  
family. Word has it that Sharkey Bonano, Louis Prima and Wingy Manone  
were capos in that family.
