I also have the CD Glen is referring to and I agree with his assessment of it. Although the sound is sometimes elusive the great jazz is there to be heard if you are both persistent 
and patient . 

If you love the New Orleans jazz style heard mostly on the old Southland label LPs as I do then this CD is a revelation, featuring Raymond Burke, Johnny Wiggs and other great 
New Orleans jazzmen who rarely left the area.

The last I heard of Scott, about 18 months ago, he was running Kazoolips 
Records kazoolips at aol.com located at 1 Williams Crossing Rd. #1,Lebanon CT 
O6249. 

Of great interest to OKOM fans who are able to filter extraneous noises is 
New Orleans Jazz Acetates Vol 1. The disc consists of pieced together 
fragments of many private recordings that were rescued from Raymond Burke's 
trash that were set out to be disposed of following Burke's death.These were 
from sessions between 1942 and 1952 in New Orleans. After filtering out the 
extraneous noises with your own will power there is a lot of worthwhile 
music to be heard. I was able to do this reasonably well after 50 years of 
listening to old blues and jazz before the days of "enhanced" recordings.A 
word of warning though probably 95% of our readers would not appreciate
