As a rule, I agree.
Steve Barbone has such recordings.
And, of course, there are some record companies who do.  The GHB
Foundation, for example, has all Eddie Condon's Town Hall Concerts,
plus many others on it various labels: Jazzology, GHB, American Music,
Solo Art, etc.

Stomp Off, too, has issued quite a few, as have Arbors or the British PEK.
