[Dixielandjazz] Cold Weather Performances -- Marine Band version

Listmates,

The below link is a Smithsonian Magazine video clip on the U. S. Marine
Corps Band's performance during the inaugural parade.  The band's historian
describes how, if the temperature falls into the 20's, the band can continue
to perform even with frozen valves on the brass.  They have a number called
'Frozen Horns' that is mainly a series of fanfares that can be played with
fixed valves.

All the service bands DID play live during the inaugural parade but if you
paid attention, you'd notice that the Marine Band was the only one that
marched without earmuffs.
