Dear Bert,
My mate, lurking DJMLer Phil O'Rourke, invented and manufactured a  
version of that one, here in Australia well over 25 years ago, along  
with a range of mute holders and drummer's woodblocks.
My drink holder (one of Phil's first models) has seen years of active  
service and still has many more hours of use left in it.
I rarely drink water, so mine is used exclusively for schooners of beer.
