p.s.  I saw that the August adult jazz camp in NO is going to preceed the festival and that they anticipate some of the participants will qualify to perform at the festival.  Dan Vappie is doing banjo/guitar....

Who knows anything about the Satchmo Summerfest scheduled for August 5  - 
8, 2010; i.e., how the schedule and bands compare to the event Steve listed  
below?

NORMAL
Van Morrison and Aretha Franklin will perform at  the 2010 New Orleans  
Jazz and Heritage Festival, along with Pearl  Jam, Lionel Richie and  
actor Steve Martin, who plays banjo in his  bluegrass group the Steep  
Canyon Rangers. The 41st annual event is  scheduled for the weekends of  
April 23-25 and April 29-May  2.
