Dear Gerard,
The Capitol LPs show Daily, as you will know.
So does the Pete Daily website at http://petedaily.tripod.com/
He is listed with that spelling in 'Trumpet Kings' by Scott Yanow  
(2001. Backbeat Books) on page 113.
I have an article by him (or about him), using that spelling of his  
name, but am having a senior moment trying to remember where it is and  
what it was about.
My mate Don Ingle will know.
