I should have known that you'd be the one to come through for me.
I remember awhile back you setting me straight as to Louis Prima's
recording of "A Sunday Kind of Love"
I don't know what year Lil Hardin wrote "Bad Boy" (her name is on the
Jivebombers label) but I seem to recall that was not the original title,
which had somewhat of a racial connotation.
Someone had told me that Velma Middleton (Mrs. Ming in the 30s Flash
Gordon movies; a little serial humor there) had also been a Mrs. Satchmo
but this later proved to be erroneous.
I have a live recording on Decca of her and Louis doing "That's My
Desire" that'll knock your socks off. Will be implementing it in a
future "Callaghan's Corner" that will consist entirely of entertainers
"caught in the act".
