[Dixielandjazz] A Plug from a lurker...unknown musicians...Pocket trumpet

Hi Marek: The trumpet in the photo is actually a "pocket trumpet" or  "pocket 
cornet". It is a Jupiter brand, has the same length of tubing as a   Bb trpt 
or cornet and is not meant to compete with a trumpet or cornet, both of  which 
I play. I use it as a novelty in certain tunes just as a change of pace.  The 
tone is brighter, at least from my perspective. In fact, the jazz player,  
Don Cherry did quite well using a pocket trumpet. 
 
Thank you for the compliments! I will pass them on to my band mates.
 
The horn I played on the recording is a Benge 3X trumpet by the  way.

The instrument with which you are shown on  the pictyre seems to be
"toy trumpet."

Listening to "Tin Roof" just now  (Stryville Blues has just ended).
The band sounds quite good to my  non-professional (but rather
experienced)  ears.
