There will be a memorial for Dick Mix at the Dante Club, Friday Nov 14, 1:00

Dick was an important figure in the Sacramento 50s, 60s and 70s Jazz scene.
He is a life-time Gold Card member of the Sacramento Traditional Jazz

English horn in the Sacramento Symphony.

Dick was also one of the two trombone players, along with Jim Maihack, in
the 10 piece Jazz band, Sugar Willie and the Cubes throughout the 60s and
70s. He was in the band when they appeared at the Monterey Dixieland Jazz
Festival in May of 1968 on the same show as the original Dukes of Dixieland,
the Firehouse 5 Plus 2, Clancy
Hayes, Bob Crosby and the Bobcats, Turk Murphy's San Francisco Jazz Band and
the Louis
Armstrong All-stars.
