Hello Tito,
I'm afraid that it's a bit out of date!
I wish to mention (yet again) that the Israeli Jacques Sany,
originally from Algiers (that's Algiers, Africa, not Louisiana) was
twice the featured soloist at the Sidney Bechet Sodiety concerts. OK,
the first time he was invited based on hearsay, but certainly not the
second time (in 2008 - can't recall the exact date).
A friend attended the first time, and taped it; the quality is lousy,
but the music is great, and the only American star musician who proved
to be jacques' equal was Howard Alden (but then, Jacques go the chance
to play with the MASTER in Algiess).
Support live jazz (why not the Bechet Society?).
Cheers
