The only excuse I can find is that this is a Dixieland forum, and while SFS
is very much OKOM, it definitely isn't "Dixieland" music.

Funny that you say that it isn't Dixieland.

When I was growing up and first heard the Lu Watters Band, it turned me on
to "Dixieland." Next it was the Firehouse 5+2 and then Bob Scobey. After
that it was Condon.

I considered it all Dixieland.

Never heard until years later that the word Dixieland was offensive to
anyone, or that certain music of the time wasn't Dixieland.

I considered that most small band ensemble music pre Be-Bop was Dixieland,
at least to me.

Of course, pop music of the 20s wasn't, Benny Goodman wasn't Dixieland,
Basie wasn't Dixieland. But to me, what was Dixieland and what wasn't was
very clear in my mind.

I guess that is why the term OKOM (Our kind of music) works so well.
