Hello Glen,
I do not quite follow.
Jerusalem is the capital of Israel, and there's a lot of cultural
activity.  There two theatres (that's repertory theatre), concert
halls, The Israel Festival (whith, inter alia, a would-be jazz
section), cinemas, a cinemateque, and lots of non-kpsher places, open
on Saturday.
