Hi Luis,

Don`t know about the general jazz scene but I got a sit in with a couple of local bands when visiting the Cork Jazz Festival a few years ago. They were saying at that time that they had plenty of work .

Apart from a musical instrument you will need several thick sweaters, wellington boots, a topquality waterproof outfit with souwester hat. If you wear spaectacles get them fitted with windshield wipers. That ought to see you through the summer and give you enough experience to outfit yourself properly for the winter. Lifejackets are for sale or hire at most good quality shops.

If you need a hobby apart from music you could chase up the sites of the bonfires that the Irish used to light during the WW2 to guide the German bombers to their targets. Or you could practice your Riverdance steps.

Top `o` the morning t`ye

Pat :-)
