Dear Ed,
In Australia, folk your age usually revert to "I'm 83 and a half", as 
they used to do in kindergarden:
  ["I'm 3 and a half", "4 and a half", etc.)
Young blokes like Ingle and I will eagerly await your "I'm 99 and a 
half" announcement.
