One of the unfortunate characteristics of the Soprano, even the modern ones, 
are problems with intonation.  It takes a better player to handle one. 
Trouble is, a lot of players treat them as some sort of clarinet with 
unfortunate results.  Because the embouchure is tight they tend to bite or 
clamp on like many clarinet players do.  That produces really rotten results 
both with tone and intonation.  They really aren't like a sax in some ways 
either.

The soprano is a unique instrument with a separate set of problems.  Unless 
you are a fairly good player with great listening skills there will be 
problems, absolutely guaranteed.
