[Dixielandjazz] Need videos 'about' Louis Armstrong

Friends,
I have to do a podcast for my grad class project. I have chosen Louis
Armstrong as my overall subject. However, the podcast will not be for
teaching students about Louis. It will be about how to use video in
the classroom to teach about Louis. I have to write a script to
narrate, insert stills and use audio clips. The podcast will talk
about the pros/cons of using video, virtual field trips and
interactive media found on the web, but I wouldn't actually use the
interactive media or video in the podcast, just narration, stills and
audio clips. Yeah, it's confusing to me too.
So, what I'm looking for are leads to video content on the web
'about' Louis. Oh, by the way, I need SIX video sources and YouTube
counts only as one, I wouldn't be able to use six YouTube videos.
Suggestions other than YouTube are what I am looking for. I guess
that the Ken Burns style of video would qualify, even though it's
likely made up of stills.
I thought I might take this approach with the students: help them
gain an understanding of why Louis was a seminal figure in jazz, in
the music world in general and in society (i.e. Civil Rights, etc.).
Now, is it possible to find videos to support those points? I dunno.
Maybe you can suggest a different approach, perhaps based on the
availability of video.
I know this isn't the usual kind of discussion topic for the DJML
Bob, but if you will indulge me this once, I will greatly appreciate
it. I am kind of stabbing in the dark with this project and I need to
brainstorm with you, the folks who are the most familiar with Louis
and the resources about him. As it is now, one side of my head is
flattening out from banging it against the wall.
I already have the pdf of the FBI file, by the way.
If anyone would like to see the scoring rubric for this project, I'll
gladly send it off-list. It is in M$ Word format.
When the project is finished, it will be uploaded to my online
portfolio for viewing by the public.
Thanks so much for any and all contributions.
John McClernan, saloon tuba-ist.
