If the following link to a site for a free file conversion program has
already been posted to the DJML, sorry, I don't read all the postings.
Several alternatives have been posted already. The basic program is free
in the hopes you will buy the Plus version. Or take some of the other
programs they offer. Useful to musicians and none musicians.
The program itself is relatively small and VERY easy to use, but as I
have found some conversions do not always play back even though they
appear to convert. NO errors noted while converting. Only on playback.
This program wisely allows you to do a couple seconds of conversion and
playback in a test mode to assure you are not wasting time. The
programmer has thought of just about everything. Very well done. Simple
and "small" window. No complicated directions.
On the home page select the basic Prism installation file for download
to try. It is free. The Plus version will cost you. The Toolbox link
WILL put links for other programs to your start up list, but will NOT
"call home" unless you tell it to download the programs.

Formats handled besides CD and DVD are: AVI, WMV, ASF, MPG, 3GP, MP4,
MOV and of course the key one for use with You Tube files already on
your computer, FLV for Flash files. You can produce your own DVD's
using the correct formats converted from FLV files.
One of many good conversion programs, but worth trying I think.
