[Dixielandjazz] Remember that clip of Alphonse Picou?

I've only had time to check out the one with Tyree Glenn, Coleman Hawkins,
Alec Templeton, Roland Hanna, et al. There was some excellent music on that
one with some great Hawkins tenor closing out the show with the last two
tunes.

I'm hoping to get some time this weekend to check out the rest of the Art
Ford Jazz Party material. One thing I noticed. Ford appeared to not know
diddly about the New Orleans players or music, and was definitely more in
his element with this other group. The other thing I noticed is that Jackie
Cooper ain't a bad drummer!

Hello Hal,
I can only join Ginny in thanking you!
Very good music indeed! And there are links to other Art Ford's Jazz
Parties, of which at least one is OKOM - haven't yet heard the others.
And, surprisingly, while You Tube often stalls (until the end of a
clip; on "replay" they play well), these parties play very well,
unbroken.
Cheers,
Marek
