you have had indeed a very helpful couple of hints by some really 
learned guys, like Larry or Steve Barbone etc.
and you can go ahead pretty well with that.
Anyway, if you want to learn and practice and progress in a coordinated

that's the best and more complete free on-line course in Traditional 
Jazz improvisation I know, with help of Band-in-a-Box examples and 
tutorials. 
Made up by John P. Birchall a great lover of OKOM (he used to be around 
here in DJML)    Hope it helps.
