Hi, Stan,
Don't believe everything you read in ANY discography. They are useful,
and are labors of love and great research, but not infallable. Yesterday
I was looking for a recording by the Castle Jazz Band, issued on Decca,
in Tom Lord's disco and it wasn't there. I've found a number of spelling
errors and other errors in Lord's work, and in Rust. It just happens.
For example, when Dick Sudhalter was researching Lost Chords, he
contacted me about Jack Purvis. He had a hard time believing Purvis was
on Rube Bloom's session of On Revival Day/ Wah Wah Girl in Agua Caliente
simply because Rust had Manny Klein listed. Eventually I was able to
persuade him that it was Purvis.

I'm going with the spelling Conzelmann since that was the spelling used
on the Social Security Death Index where I found the info regarding his
birth and death. If you do any genealogy research, as I have, you get
used to LOTS of spelling variations.

I wrote to Stan privately yesterday that I felt Conzelmann is NOT on the
Wolverine/Jazz Holiday recording, although there is someone playing a
choke cymbal on the last part of Wolverine. I base my opinion on the
fact the Conzelmann's presence on the other BG sides is very noticeable.

Harry Goodman did play tuba, btw. I believe he played that before the
string bass.

Cheers,
Chris Tyle
