Battle Hymn of the Republic.
You're a Grand Old Flag,
The Gary Owen a.k.a. The gal I left behind me.(Irish Union Army troops
in US 7th Cavalry made it a part of military band tradition.)
Any of the service songs - Marine, Army, Navy, Coat Guard, Air Force
(incidently the Air Force song was composed by Frank Leisser.)
Some of the tradtional Sousa band tunes, played in a dixieland style
make good filler. We used to do The Thunderer at Jazz Ltd. -- a little
chart by yours truly requested by "Da Boss", Bill Rhinehardt. (We also
played Gettysburg March, too.)
Old folks like a lively tune. Tapping their toes may be all the exercise
they can handle - I know, I think I'm getting there! (:>})
Every day when I get up I do some exercise. Lift coffee cup, lower
coffee cup, lift coffee cup, lower coffee cup. In the evneing a do the
same but use a glass of single malt in place of the Java.
Don
